ICAR JRF counselling - tips
Hello graduates , here we have provided some tips for those candidates who have been called for counselling ie allotment of seats at different Agricultural Universities of the country.
Counselling is for students who have qualified in the JRF exam and have got a rank , you have to download the counselling letter where your general and category (if applicable) rank is displayed.
ICAR normally sends you the counselling letter offline via post , but if you're in a remote location it is always best to download it from icarexam.net and submit it during the time of counselling.
In order to attend the counselling, it is essential to fill up the Counselling Form provided to the qualified candidates (copy attached) and submit the same at the time of counseling, duly filled in and signed along with self-attested photocopies of the required under mentioned certificates to the counseling committee.
Counselling form can be found attached in the counselling letter ,usually the 5th page of the counselling letter , we personally advice you to take 3-4 copies of the counselling letter for your use.
You should clearly mention which subject and university you prefer , a space for 6 choices of subjects and 6 choices of preferred Universities have been provided in the counselling form.

Where u will get Seats?
In agriculture and allied sciences for 25% seats in accredited Agricultural Universities i.e., SAUs, CAU, BHU, AMU, Visva Bharati and Nagaland University
100% seats at IARI, IVRI, NDRI, and CIFE for the Academic Session 2016-17
What all documents u need to submit ?
1. Date of Birth (DOB) certificate/Matriculation Certificate.
2. All Certificates and Mark sheets, grade reports in original, related to Class X and Class XII.
3. Bachelor degree certificate. / PDC candidates will have to submit documentary proof
4. In case of candidates from SC, ST and non-creamy layer of OBC categories, original Certificates as per Central Govt. requirements and issued by the Competent Authority.
5. Medical certificate in case of Physically Challenged (PC) candidate issued by Medical Officer of any Government Hospital along with description of the kind of disability and the degree of disability.
6. Character Certificate from the Head of the institution last attended.
7. Original copy of the candidate's e-admit card and counseling call/invitation letter downloaded from ICAR website
8. Three recent and clear passport size colour photographs same as pasted on the online Application.
9. Domicile certificate in case of candidates from States/Union Territories namely Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Goa, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura for UPS categories.
IMPORTANT --> Take Original of the above documents and self attested copies of the above mentioned certificates for counselling , you need the same original documents when you take the seat at your preferred university

- Nearest metro -- Rajender place / Patel Nagar metro station
- From these metro stations Auto service / rickshaw available , bus services are also available to Todapur
- Indicator boards will be placed , on the right lane of road where counselling is to take place
- Farmers guest house at IARI , proper prior intimidation should be ade before ,can apply online at iari.res.in
- OYO rooms near patel nagar metro station ,Rajender place , Karol bagh
What time to attend for counselling ??
- Its highly recommended to appear at the counselling hall by 9.00am in the morning with any aide / friends.
- Its also recommended that all certificates and their attested copies should be properly arranged and kept in files for easy management
- It is of practice that in the morning session ST , SC , PC , UPS reservation categories will be called first
- In the afternoon session usually General and OBC candidates will be called for counselling
How to know the number of seats and where seats are available ??
- Tentative list of seats can be seen in the information bulletin
- However these are liable to change , actual number of seats will be displayed publicly in projection screen before going to the counselling hall , total seats both general and reservation categories will be displayed university wise.
Other
- food for the afternoon will be usually available (as seen in previous years) , food coupons usually meals will be served at nominal prices in the complex as such during the counselling.
